Custom Fabrication | Rubber Lining Applicators | About Us
Founded by Richard Moon in 1923, Moon Fabricating Corp. began production in Kokomo, Indiana. Initial operations included custom steel fabrication, construction/erection and machining services.
In 1957, they were approved as applicators of BF Goodrich Koroseal PVC sheet linings. The organization provided fabrication and tank lining services to industrial operations across the Midwest. Clients included Steel, Automotive, Chemical, Plating, Anodizing, Power Generation, and Water Treatment companies.
Business grew and in the 60’s, Moon Welding and Machine Company sought to be certified and became approved as rubber lining applicators produced by the nation’s largest producers of rubber products, BF Goodrich and Goodyear rubber companies. A 12′ diameter x 40′ long vulcanizer insures quality and consistency by providing pressurized curing of rubber lined equipment. Moon Welding was one of the first organizations in the country to receive approved applicator accreditation as regional applicator networks were established.
In 1970, Moon Fabricating Corporation emerged as one of the largest applicators of corrosion resistant lining products in the nation. Services had expanded to include monolithic fiberglass reinforced linings and specialty coatings. The combination of fabricating and corrosion resistant lining provided a single source of supply for lined chemical storage and process equipment.
